The Story

If you're looking for a top-tier point-and-shoot experience underwater, the Ikelite 200FP/T Underwater Housing for Sony Alpha a6700 with integrated TTL electronics is an outstanding choice.

This housing is configured for the way we would personally use it, including TTL circuitry, a dual tray with dual handles, trigger extensions, a vacuum system, and a spare O-ring for added security and convenience.

The housing is specifically designed for the Sony Alpha a6700 paired with the compact Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS lens. Thanks to the lens’s Power Zoom (PZ) feature, the camera can be easily installed using a simple drop-in loading design. The integrated glass flat port includes 67mm front threads, allowing you to attach external wet lenses. For larger wide-angle wet lenses, a 67mm-to-bayonet adapter (sold separately) is recommended for improved support.

The built-in TTL electronics deliver precise and consistent flash exposure when used with compatible Ikelite DS Strobes, helping you capture well-balanced underwater images.

Constructed from Ikelite’s durable ABS-PC blend, the housing is lighter than aluminum while still providing excellent strength and durability. The included vacuum system allows you to confirm the housing seal and check for leaks before entering the water, giving you extra peace of mind during your dive.

About Sony TTL

TTL or "Thru-the-Lens" flash metering means the camera evaluates the scene and communicates exposure information directly to the compatible flash. The camera automatically adjusts the power output of the external flash so you don't have to.

TTL exposure is faster and usually more accurate than setting the flash output manually. TTL can be the difference between getting a properly exposed image or not, especially when shooting fast-moving subjects and subjects that are moving towards or away from you. TTL is by far the easiest way to shoot perfectly exposed macro photography and allows you to concentrate on focus and framing.

Some people think TTL is only good for macro... but they're wrong! When shooting wide angle or close focus wide angle (CFWA), set your camera to properly expose the background and let the DL2 adjust your strobe intensity for proper exposure of the foreground.

Ikelite was the first company to introduce TTL for underwater strobes with Sony DSLR and mirrorless digital cameras, and continues to set the standard for accuracy of Sony TTL flash protocol.

Electrical Flash Triggering

Connecting an electrical sync cord is as quick and easy as screwing in a light bulb. Electrical triggering supports greater accuracy, faster rapid firing, and less missed flashes as compared to fiber optic triggering. Use of electrical TTL also dramatically increases strobe battery life.
